Responsible for kitchen services.
ABOUT RACINE POP
In March 2022, due to a lack of available food for the September school year, a group of parents on the committee and members of the educational team launched Racine Pop, a non-profit organization aimed at developing a local, healthy and sustainable business model to meet the food needs of children, seniors and people in precarious situations.
Since September 2022, our initiative of offering two meals a week in the Sutton school cafeteria has been a great success, with an average of 80 meals sold daily. To ensure a sustainable and responsible approach, we have recovered unsold, surplus and gleaned food from various local organizations and producers. We also used the previous year's cafeteria inventory to minimize food waste.
To create affordable, ecological and sustainable ways to anchor the population of Brome-Missisquoi in its food ecosystem in order to enhance the value of the territory and its occupants.
The person responsible for the kitchen will play a central role in ensuring the well-being of the students and staff who use the school cafeteria on a daily basis. The person in charge will be responsible for preparing food according to recipes and quality standards, monitoring the quality of the food being prepared, setting up and clearing the workstation, serving food in the proper portions and containers, as well as cleaning and sanitizing kitchen items, including tables, tools and equipment. In addition, she will be responsible for checking food preservation, as well as the accuracy of the temperature of appliances and food. Primary responsibilities include:
